The La Jolla Community Planning Association is holding its annual trustee election Thursday, March 3 at La Jolla Recreation Center, 615 Prospect St., to fill eight vacant seats. Six trustee seats span a full three-year term; one seat will be filled for two years and the last for one year. Ten candidates are competing for the vacancies. Write-in candidates are allowed but must meet eligibility requirements pursuant to the LJCPA bylaws. Only association members are permitted to vote. Polls will open at 3 p.m. and close at 7 p.m. Ballots will then be counted, and the tally will be presented to association president Joe LaCava, who will certify and announce the results later that evening, during the association’s regular meeting. The challenge period ends one week after the results are announced. Newly elected trustees will be seated at the beginning of the April 7 regular meeting. For more information, see lajollacpa.org.
