
SD Rowing Club names new executive director San Diego Rowing Club on Mission Bay, founded in 1888, has named Peter Fayette as its executive director following a comprehensive search. “As a youth-oriented, health and athletic-driven organization, we needed to find a professional who had a broad range of experience from business operations to familiarity with nonprofit development, outreach, and youth athletics,” said David Frost, board president of the San Diego Rowing Club. “Peter brings that diverse background to the club,” he said. As an attorney, he has the skills to guide our organization thoughtfully and prudentl. As a former start-up company founder and owner, he has developed and implemented business plans, managed national sales efforts, and overseen software development and deployment, and as a consultant to youth sports organizations in San Diego, he is aware of the fiscal challenges facing non-profits in a down economy.” Fayette served on the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation from 1995 to 2005, and is a past president of the organization. He is a member of the Kearny Mesa Planning Group, and is the owner of Blaugrana Solutions, a youth sports consultancy, that is currently facilitating the redevelopment of the Hickman athletic fields with the city’s Park and Recreation Department. A job well done.” Stevens, of PB, named new marketing director Advanced Marketing Strategies, one of San Diego’s premiere advertising agencies, has named Mark Stevens of Pacific Beach as its new media director. Stevens served as senior media planner for Saatchi & Saatchi in New York. In that position, he planned, negotiated and executed national, traditional and non-traditional media for Reynolds Wrap, Oven Bags, Hot Bags, Plastic Wrap, and new product introductions including Pot Lux and Extra Wide, while managing a combined advertising budget of $25 million for all Reynolds Metals products. Stevens comes to the agency from Alphacom, where he served as marketing manager/buyer for all aspects of media planning, buying and creative for InSynergy Consulting Group, Southwest Autosports and Titan Realty. Stevens proved particularly adept at applying demographic data and interpreting consumer buying trends to meet client needs and expectations. Stevens earned his bachelor of arts degree in corporate communications from New Paltz State University of New York, with a major in corporate communications. He is a member of The Phi Sigma Omicron Honor Society.
