A 55-year-old male driving a 2019 Ford Fusion was at 2900 Laning Road in the southbound right turn lane about 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 1. A 60-year-old male was on the southwest corner of 1900 Rosecrans Street, crossing Rosecrans Street eastbound in the crosswalk. The driver had a green turn light and the pedestrian had the cross signal. The pedestrian was in the crosswalk when the vehicle struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening head trauma. DUI was not a factor. SDPD’s Traffic Division responded and are investigating the collision.
