The Pacific Beach/Taylor Branch Library has announced its holiday schedule for November. The library will be closed for Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 12. An early opening at 9:30 a.m. is scheduled for Nov. 21 with closing at 5:30 p.m. The library will remain closed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, as well as on Nov. 23 and 24. The rest of November, however, will be busy, with music an important part of the free programs. A sing-along is planned for Friday, Nov. 9 from 11 a.m. to noon, with golden oldies and sterling standards. Although musical ability is appreciated, it’s not required. This program repeats on the second Friday of each month. Neighbors can also plan for the Pizarro Brothers concert on Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 7 to 8 p.m., part of the Friends of the PB Library’s 2012-13 Concert Series. “Music Together” is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Nov. 15. It’s an interactive program for babies and children (ages newborn to 5 years) and their parents. This program repeats on the third Thursday of each month. New this month on the first and third Thursday from 11 to 11:55 a.m. is a toddler yoga class, including singing and storytelling. Babies up to 24 months meet from 11 to 11:25 a.m. and 2- to 4-year-olds from 11:30 to 11:55 a.m. Bring your own towel and yoga mat. “Sign-A-Story Circle Time” is set for Nov. 29 at 10:30 a.m. Monta Briant, a local mother and author of “Baby Sign Language Basics” and “Sign, Sing, and Play,” will sign stories and lead songs, fingerplays and games, as well as share tips on using sign language as an early communication tool with preverbal babies and toddlers. For more activities, visit 4275 Cass St., or call (858) 581-9934.
