Local painter Judy Judy Judy’s figurative art is sensual bordering on the sexual, and it’s influenced by her frequent trips to France. “In creating my work,” she says, “I believe the essence of French chic lies in the way in which it creates harmony by combining intelligence and taste. Intelligence alone would be less cool than cold; taste without a tinge of braininess would be merely conventional.” Meanwhile, Ingrid Wolters’ abstract paintings exhibit the unique quality of drawing the viewer into her work. Her selection of stunning colors combined with fluid movements of shapes and lines capture the imagination. The almost mystical qualities in her work evoke deep thoughts and emotions. “My passion is abstract design, vivid color combinations with fluid movements to create beauty and capture the viewer’s imagination.” See what we (and they) mean at “Pas de Deux,” “a modern and figurative artistic duet,” through Sunday, Sept. 20, at the La Jolla Art Association Gallery at The Shores, 8100 Paso del Ocaso.
