A paraglider suffered serious injuries the afternoon of March 20 when he crashed into the cliffs near the Torrey Pines Gliderport in La Jolla, a fire official said.
The man, in his late 40s, crashed about 300 feet north of the gliderport about halfway down the cliffs around 3:25 p.m, said San Diego Fire-Rescue Department spokesman Lee Swanson.
The man was hoisted off the cliffs by a helicopter and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The exact nature of his injuries weren’t released.
