Ocean Beach MainStreet Association has announced the Wednesday OB Farmers Market, on hiatus due to the pandemic, will not return Wednesday, June 3, but will be postponed to June 10 due to a planned protest on Newport Avenue. The June 10 Farmers Market will start at 4 p.m. But expect some changes.
“It’s going to look a little different and be smaller,” said OBMA executive director Denny Knox. 
“The entrance will be on Cable Street entering in the middle of Newport Avenue and we will be enforcing the need for 6 feet of space between customers. Everyone will need to wear a mask.”
Knox said the exits will be at the mid-block crosswalks, and also at Bacon Street. The booths will be up against the curb area facing the center of the street.
“We will have all our farmers, pre-packaged food, and a few to-go hot food vendors,” Knox said. “There will be no crafters or merchandise booths until it is allowed by the City and County Health Department. This will be a no-touch market. Vendors will put your item in a bag for you.”
Knox added all vendors and volunteers will get a health screening prior to setting up. “We won’t have music for a number of weeks because it isn’t yet allowed,” she pointed out.
