Council to hear proposed 3-story Bird Rock project
The project that sparked La Jolla’s No Third Story campaign will have a new hearing to approve or deny an application for several permits in city council chambers next Thursday, May 22 at 9 a.m.
Mark Lyon and Associates is proposing to construct a 20,507-square-foot, three-story site called The Bird Rock Project at 5702 La Jolla Blvd. The development would contain 11 residential and seven commercial units and have two levels of belowground parking. There is also a proposed loading area.
The community resisted the project previously, which is located on a .37-acre site and is in Zone 4 of the La Jolla Planned District within the La Jolla Community Planning Area.
For more information, go to www.sandiego.gov/development-services, or call Morris Dye, development project manager, (619) 446-5201.
The project number is PTS NO. 87287. The project name is Bird Rock Mixed Use.
