Emerging Leaders convene for festive event The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla will host a networking event for Emerging Leaders of the Jewish Family Service (JFS) on Dec. 8. Emerging Leaders, a group of community-minded, philanthropic young professionals, will gather for an evening of holiday shopping and entertainment with proceeds to benefit the Hand Up Youth Food Pantry and Foodmobile hunger programs at JFS. Students, Barfly create fashionably charitable event Barfly will host the Interact Holiday Fashion Show on Dec. 7 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Featuring holiday fashions for teens, moms, dads and seniors from La Jolla Village apparel retailers Tommy Bahama, Banana Republic, Pomegranate and Fresh Produce, the event will support the community projects undertaken by the Interact clubs of La Jolla High School and The Bishop’s School. The event will feature a buffet lunch while student and parent models from LJHS, PTA and La Jolla Rotary Club show off holiday fashions. Ten percent of the store’s sales on that day will be donated back to the school’s need-based student financial aid and faculty professional growth programs. Shoppers will also receive a $15 gift card for every $150 spent. Bloomingdale’s is located at 7057 Friars Road.
