Nancy Bark, dearly loved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, lost her life to breast cancer on March 29 at the age of 45.
Nancy was well-known and loved throughout Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and La Jolla as a tireless volunteer, working on several committees at Bird Rock Elementary, including serving as president of Bird Rock’s Parents Committee, volunteering at Muirlands Middle School and at Congregation Beth Israel. She also worked with the Pacific Youth Soccer League along with her husband, David, who currently serves as president.
Nancy loved running, hiking, reading, traveling, cards and games, and sharing a meal with family or friends. In addition to her husband, she leaves behind her three sons, Ethan, Lonnie and Shafer, all students at Muirlands. Her amazing strength, constant optimism, honesty and beautiful smile will be missed by so very many.
In lieu of flowers, a fund in Nancy’s honor has been established through the San Diego Public Library. Checks can be made payable to the San Diego Public Library Fund. At the bottom of the check, write “Memorial for Nancy Bark ” Pacific Beach Branch.” Checks can be dropped off at the Earl & Birdie Taylor Library, 4275 Cass St. in Pacific Beach.
