MUST HEAR: Wild Child and other upcoming shows in La Jolla

Almost 50 years since the passing of frontman Jim Morrison, The Doors music shows no sign of losing popularity, with hits from “Riders on the Storm” to “The End” still omnipresent on radio and television. Of all the major bands of the 1960s, it’s possible that only The Beatles and The Rolling Stones surpass The Doors for iconic status.

As such it’s no surprise that there are many tribute bands playing in The Doors honor. One of the best, Wild Child, performs as part of the Green Flash Concert Series at the Birch Aquarium. Wild Child, particularly frontman and singer Dave Brock, are a solid recreation of The Doors look and sound, sure to please both casual fans and diehards alike.

Wild Child: Wednesday, June 19 at the Green Flash Concert Series, Birch Aquarium at Scripps, 2300 Expedition Way. 6 p.m. 21 and up. Visit aquarium.ucsd.edu/experiences/events/green-flash for more info.
