2014’s 50th anniversary tributes to the Beatles are in full swing across San Diego this month, from the San Diego County Fair’s theme to an indie-rock celebration of Lennon/McCartney in North Park. But one of the most interesting events takes place at Dizzy’s on Saturday, June 14. The night will feature acclaimed virtuoso guitarist Fred Benedetti, in a celebration of Paul McCartney’s birthday, which takes place June 16. Benedetti will be joined by his vocalist daughters, Regina and Julia, with special guest multi-instrumentalist Jeff Pekarek. If you’re a Beatles fan, there is an embarrassment of riches available to you this summer. This solo guitar show from one of the area’s true masters of the craft promises to be among the most enjoyable listens.
