Whitney Shay is an impressive talent. Whether she’s belting out a standard, blues classic, soul groover or jazzy dance number, her voice and stage presence are formidable. One of the area’s hardest-working musicians, Shay can be seen with various combos, often performing with guitarist Robin Henkel. On Oct. 18, Shay steps into the world of big band music to perform with the JazzKatz Project — a 13-piece jazz ensemble that performs music of the swing-dance era.
