SAN DIEGO — The 10th annual Women’s Hall of Fame will extend its deadline by one week and will accept nominations until Sept. 6 at 5 p.m. Nominations for outstanding women from all parts of the San Diego will be accepted. One woman in each of five categories will be chosen as an award recipient. Nomination categories are trailblazer, empowerer of women, activist/creator of structural change, bridge builder of multi cultural understanding and historian/cultural guardian. Those who will be nominated should reflect the diversity of the community and should also have contributed at length to the San Diego community. Since 2002, 47 women have been inducted into the hall of fame. The winners will be selected by the Women’s History Museum, the San Diego County Commission on the Status of Women, the UCSD Women’s Center and the Department of Women’s Studies at SDSU.
