Gourmands will have a chance to sample specialties from more than 20 restaurants and cafes during the 10th annual Taste of Adams Avenue event on Sunday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased in advance for $25 through the Adams Avenue Business Association website (adamsavenuebusiness.com) or the day of the event at a will-call booth at the corner of 34th Street and Adams Avenue.
The event stretches from Kensington Café at 4141 Adams Ave. to Farmhouse Cafe at 2121 Adams Ave., near Trolley Barn Park.
Three trolleys will be available to drive participants up and down Adams Avenue to the various eateries participating in the event.
Bleu Boheme, which is under new ownership, will be serving escargots sautéed in red wine and veal stock, with linguisa sausage and chickpeas in a well of Roquefort mashed potatoes.
Kensington Café will feature their vegetarian Pio Pico Tacos, made with Soyrizo, avocado, potato, black beans, cilantro, salsa and “crema.”
Other establishments participating this year include Blind Lady Ale House, Burger Lounge, Café 21, Café Cabaret, Country Kabob Greek Restaurant, DiMille’s Italian Restaurant, El Zarape Mexican Restaurant, Gold Donuts, Incredible Cheesecake Company, Jayne’s Gastropub, Kensington Grill, Lestat’s Coffee House, Mariposa Ice Cream,
Ponce’s Mexican Restaurant, Senor Mango, Tam’s Thailand Food, TAO, Twiggs Bakery & Coffee House and Viva Pops.
“It’s a chance for people who haven’t had the opportunity to come up here very often to see the nice blend of restaurants on Adams Avenue,” said Jim Schneider, executive director of the Adams Avenue Business Association.
The event also introduces participants to the array of interesting boutiques and shops along Adams Avenue, Schneider said.
“A lot of new businesses get their due,” he said. “As time has gone by you see how Adams Avenue has transformed into a real destination spot.”
An official after-party will be held at Air Conditioned Lounge at 4673 30th St. beginning at 3 p.m.
