Volunteers with the California chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, will gather from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13 at Kite Field, E. Mission Bay Drive, for a peace picnic and bake sale to raise awareness and to support common sense gun laws and to celebrate the group’s progress in the five years. The event in San Diego is one of more than 160 events across the country honoring five years of stopping the NRA’s agenda and passing legislation that can save lives.
Moms Demand Action volunteers, along with survivors of gun violence and other gun violence prevention advocates, have fought hard to change America’s lax gun laws. A report on the progress of the gun violence prevention movement in the last five years is available at momsdemandaction.org.
