Acoustic guitar masters Rodrigo Y Gabriela will perform 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 31 at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay, at 2241 Shelter Island Drive.
The Mexico City duo, who honed their skills busking on the streets of Dublin, Ireland, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their “Rodrigo Y Gabriela” album, a classic that led these instrumental musicians to top the charts and perform at festivals around the world. The Humphreys concert will focus on those early songs.
They have released five studio albums, three live albums and one EP. In 2011, they collaborated with Hans Zimmer on the “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” soundtrack while also contributing to the soundtrack for the “Shrek” prequel “Puss in Boots.” In May 2010, they performed at The White House for President Barack Obama.
