Best known for his work with new wave hit makers Missing Persons, as well as Frank Zappa, he can also be heard on recordings by dozens of artists including The Knack, Jeff Beck and Duran Duran. For this event he will be performing what is billed as the largest-tuned drum and percussion set in the world, but even without that gimmick, the chance to see one of the music world’s greats shouldn’t be passed up.

Fans of the Rolling Stones will want to head to Tio Leo’s on Oct. 29 for a show from Gary Roach’s Stones Revue. With a passing resemblance to Mick Jagger, Roach does a great job of fronting the band, performing with his crew all the classics with an emphasis on the Rolling Stones late ’60s / early ’70s period. The show consists of nothing but crowd pleasers, with a set list full of classics such as “Gimme Shelter” and “Jumping Jack Flash.” If you’re a devotee of the songs of Jagger and Richards, you’re going love every second of this show.

Metal fans won’t want to miss a rare appearance from influential British rockers Diamondhead at Brick by Brick on Nov. 5. It’s a terrific bill which includes Symbolic, The Bastard Saints and the Dolan Brotherhood, but there is nothing quite like the sonic onslaught of Diamond Head. Formed in 1976, the band is currently touring behind their self-titled new album, their first in eight years. However it’s their early tracks such as “I Am Evil” and “The Prince,” as covered by superstars Metallica that have cemented the band’s legendary status. If you’re looking for a show that’s loud, manic and in your face, this is the month’s best bet.
