A 52-year-old male driving a Dodge vehicle was stopped on northbound Nimitz Boulevard at I-8 eastbound at the red light about 5 p.m. on Sept. 19. A 36-year-old male was driving his Suzuki motorcycle on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard ramp to I-8 eastbound. The Dodge got a green light and pulled out into the intersection. The motorcycle ran the red light and hit the front end of the Dodge. The driver of the motorcycle sustained a severed right foot. He was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. Alcohol was a factor. San Diego Police Traffic Division is investigating.
