The Navajo Community puts a lot into the restoration of Navajo Canyon to its natural state. This is and will be a generational effort that includes periodic removal of trash. I Love A Clean San Diego is supporting a major clean-up of the Navajo Canyon on Thursday, Aug. 18, beginning at 3 p.m.
Join I Love A Clean San Diego, Friends of Navajo Canyon, and Think Blue San Diego for a litter cleanup in Navajo Canyon. They will divert litter from the San Diego River Watershed and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean.
The staff will be set-up with a check-in table at The Navajo Canyon Trailhead. Join them Aug. 18 to learn about the canyon and recycling right, then grab supplies and help them clean up.
Participants will sort and dispose of litter and after the cleanup you can request community service verification in your community hub dashboard. The hosts encourage social distancing and masks.
This event requires a signed release-of-liability waiver for all volunteers, and anyone under 18 needs a waiver signed by a guardian. Download and print the waiver, sign, and bring with you to this cleanup. No printer? No problem. The hosts will have waivers at the check-in table for volunteers. If you are under 18 have your guardian check-in with those in charge at the cleanup to sign-off on your participation.
