Not only did several La Jolla High teams secure league and CIF gold this past spring season, they also nailed down individual honors.
Just recently, The Hall of Champions announced the Breitbard All-CIF team for 2008 spring sports. The Breitbard All-CIF team has been the official All-CIF team since the CIF San Diego Section was formed in 1960. The teams are selected under the auspices of the Hall of Champions by a media panel with input from coaches.
In the spring season, La Jolla sported winning teams in a number of sports, including swimming, boys tennis, boys volleyball, golf, track and baseball, to name a few.
The La Jolla athletes on the Breitbard All-CIF Baseball Team include Matt Jones and Tyler Heap (boys volleyball), Kyle van Buskirk (first team/boys tennis), Tony Sandoval (second team/boys lacrosse) and McKenzie Gloven (first team/girls lacrosse) and Mia Cohen (second team/girls lacrosse).
Representing The Bishop’s School are Conner Thomas and Jack Kelly (second team/boys lacrosse).
Representing University City High on the respective spring teams are Kelly Flanagan (softball infielder/second team) and Mac Fleet (boys track/1600).
