Punk rock comes to 710 Beach Club with a performance from San Diego’s Authentic Sellout. The four band bill includes Los Pinche Pinches, Dead End Pacific and The Deathboys, but it’s Authentic Sellout that’s been making the biggest splash. Featuring Sulo King (vocals), Christian Borja (lead guitar), Andy Herbst (rhythm guitar), Rice Enright (bass) and Brian Gaeta (drums) the band recently released a new single, “Technology,” in advance of a new album. Anyone who enjoys their music loud, high energy and with plenty of sing-a-long choruses will have a lot of fun at this show.

On Nov. 17, Dizzy’s will host the fourth annual Vocal Jazz Summit, featuring four acclaimed vocalists; Allison Adams Tucker, Leonard Patton, Rebecca Jade, and Rosemary Watson. Backed by an all-star combo of Melonie Grinnell (piano), Rob Thorsen (bass) and Claudio Rochat-Felix (drums), these gifted singers will perform a mix of material ranging from swing to Latin jazz, all selected to spotlight their vocal prowess. All of these artists are headliners on their own, making this show special in its own right, but the opportunity to hear these vocalist interact and take their art to new heights together will add up to a show sure to please area jazz, soul or pop fans.
Fourth annual Vocal Jazz Summit: Sunday, Nov. 17, at Dizzy’s at Arias Hall, 1717 Morena Blvd. 6 p.m. $20. dizzysjazz.com. On Nov. 16, this month’s San Diego Troubadour cover stars, siblings Johnny Valenzuela and Andy Rasmussen, bring their respective bands, The Sleepwalkers and Action Andy & The Hi-Tones to Tio Leo’s. Both bands will keep the dance floor hopping from start to finish, with The Sleepwalkers cumbia’s in particular always huge crowd-pleasers. This rare show with both of the brothers’ bands together will likely give this show even more of a party atmosphere than usual. Get there early, this will sell out. Guns & Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed performs at Brick by Brick with his band, Hookers and Blow, on Nov. 16. Touring behind his latest album, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Aint Easy,” Reed and company ‘s keyboard-driven rock has a Stonesy swagger about it, with fans of his other bands likely to hear a few of their tunes in the night’s set. Over the years, Reed has performed at local arenas and stadiums, if you are a rock fan this chance to catch his band at an intimate venue like Brick by Brick shouldn’t be passed up.
Dizzy reed’s Hookers & Blow: Saturday, Nov. 16 at Brick by Brick, 1130 Buenos Ave. 8 p.m. 21 and up. $20. brickbybrick.com. Garage blues duo The Black Keys stop in at Pechanga Arena on Nov. 17. Currently touring with a full band behind their latest album, “Let’s Rock,” Dan Auerbach (guitar, vocals) and Patrick Carney (drums) are playing a crowd-pleasing set, taking in tunes from throughout their 18-year career, including all three new singles, “Lo/Hi,” “Go,” and “Eagle Birds.” While The Black Keys have never had a hit song on the charts, their popularity remains immense, with their music a big part of the soundtrack of the last decade. For fans of modern rock, shows don’t get much better than this.

Anyone who enjoys big band jazz music will want to head to Mission Bay High School on Nov. 19, for a great double bill featuring some of the area’s best up and coming musicians. On hand will be the Mission Bay High School Mambo Orchestra, under the direction of JP Balmat, as well as The Mesa College Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Ian Tordella, playing a selection of standards. While this isn’t a dance concert per se, it’ll be hard to keep the toes from tapping for tunes custom made for swing dancing. This is a free event open to the public.
