People are in the wrong I may be too late to take any action about the beach with the seals in La Jolla, but I sure hope not. Miles and miles of sand and beach are designated for the people. The only small part of any wildlife habitat left on the Southern California Coast is now in jeopardy too? What will we tell our children? We kill, destroy, and eliminate anything that gets in our way. These seals have a right to be on this beach. The people are in the wrong, and we cannot keep eliminating everything that is natural or wild because it is an inconvenience to us. Please search your souls — and let this beach stay as a natural marine life preserve for generations to come. Please! I beg you, for myself, my children and my grandchildren. Pamela Squires, Wildlife artist, Palm Springs San Diego warring with voters over Prop 215 The actions of the San Diego District Attorney, Chief of Police, County Board and even local judges regarding medical marijuana remind me of how Bull Connor kept Jim Crow segregation in force in Alabama for a while after the courts ruled otherwise. The main difference being that 52 percent of the voters in San Diego County voted for Proposition 215 in 1996 and an even bigger majority approves now. The level of opposition to democratic principles found among San Diego’s leaders is appalling. San Diego’s officials seek to disown Proposition 215 in the face of a majority vote in favor of legal medical marijuana, not to mention numerous court decisions that went against them.
