Recent Tree Lighting was sooo PB! Thank you to all the people involved in making the tree lighting on the pier such a festive event! If you missed it, mark your calendar for next year! Lovely wreaths along the walk out the pier, our local school children singing and playing music as well as other musicians! Kono’s graciously supplied great hot cocoa for all! Santa was seated at the far end of the pier for photo shoots — that is soooo Pacific Beach! The resurgence of families in the beach is ever present when one strolls around the beach area. There were kids from 2 months up at the tree lighting and the event was enjoyed by all. Thank you to all that contributed to this fun community event! —Karen Lee, Broker Riviera Property Management, Riviera Brokerage Thanks for making Tree Lighting a success I would like to express my sincerest thanks to all who made the recent Christmas at Crystal Pier Tree Lighting event possible. It was great to see so many in the community come out to launch the holiday season in such a festive manner. Specifically, I would like to thank The Crystal Pier Hotel and Doug Irwin with XMAS Tree Country for providing PB with a community tree that will remain lit throughout the holiday season. I would also like to acknowledge the work our Tree Lighting Committee, led by Monica Green and including Barbara Williams, Meggan Buscho, Kathy Evans, Rose Galliher, Karolyn Estrada and Suzi Horn-Sosna, for all of their hard work in putting it all together. Thanks also to our local schools that provided us with terrific holiday cheer during the tree lighting program, including PB Elementary and PB Middle School; and thanks also to Susan Thorning for her wonderful entertainment. This was truly a community effort and we appreciate all of the local schools that decorated the stockings and the 20 PB community organizations that decorated wreaths that now hang for all to enjoy along Crystal Pier. Special thanks also to PB’s Kono’s Restaurant for providing the hundreds of delicious hot cocoas! The Tree and Pier lighting was made possible by the generous support of many in the community including Councilman Kevin Faulconer, County Supervisor Pam Slater Price, The Pacific Beach Town Council, Tassinari Physical Therapy, RT Longboards, Dirty Birds and The PB Shore Club. To all of these businesses, groups and individuals we are grateful for making it all happen. Wishing all of PB a happy and safe holiday season! —Andy Hanshaw, Discover Pacific Beach
