I am responding to the article “Public, planners given voice on beach advertisement concept,” (Page 4, Feb. 24). I am TOTALLY AGAINST selling advertising space on lifeguard towers and other beach properties. This is a beautiful, world-reknown beach community and should be respected and preserved as such. To resort to this type of advertising is demeaning to the community and cheapens every aspect of our community life. — Susan McKean lives in La Jolla.
