Uptown—the neighborhoods of Balboa Park, North Park, South Park, Mission Hills, Normal Heights, Hillcrest, Kensington, Old Town and Golden Hill—are known as communities where residential, business and civic life intersect.

This issue celebrates our achievement—one that’s no small feat in an industry and economy under siege, but a success that we recognize is largely due to the diverse environment Uptown provides for us to cover.

The neighborhoods of Uptown sustain us, and we aspire to continue to herald the community’s history, culture and close collaboration between business and residential districts while remaining impartial observers of the issues the area faces.

As we pass our two-year marker, we’re happy to put our teething stage behind us and consider ourselves integral to the community. As one reader put it, San Diego Uptown News has become a “staple” source of the information residents need to nourish, protect, debate and enjoy all that is Uptown.
