Crews will close all northbound lanes on Interstate 805 from La Jolla Village Drive to Interstate 5 Thursday and Friday, May 19 and 20, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. as part of continuing construction on the Interstate 805 North Express Lanes Project. Northbound I-805 motorists will be detoured to westbound SR-52 and then to northbound I-5. The northbound I-805 Nobel Drive and Governor Drive exits will remain open to local traffic. Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project involves constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of SR-52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project also includes construction of a south-facing direct access ramp at Carroll Canyon Road. The construction cost is about $86 million and is funded with state, federal and local sources, including the Proposition 1B State – Local Partnership Program and TransNet Extension funds.
