Located in the Village, new propietorDorothy Bello purchased the flower shop in August this year. The previous owner had owned the shop for 30 years. “My grandparents and my mom used to own a flower shop and doing business with Italy and so I decided to follow my family’s experience in flowers,” said Bello. Bello was a registered dental hygienist for more than 15 years specializing in Periodontal treatment, but she wasn’t able to practice any longer and therefore she decided to follow in her family’s footsteps and become a florist. “Flowers always make people feel better, happier and they are medicine to the soul,” said Bello. Bello wanted her flower shop to be located in La Jolla because this area has a special meaning to her and her family. Her family loves La Jolla and they have a lot of beautiful memories together from here. “At La Jolla Florist we are not just filling a vase with flowers but making creative arrangements with an unusual twist”, said the new owner of La Jolla Florist.
Bello’s dream about the shop is to pass the shop to the next generation and keeping this way the family legacy on making people happy and feeling special.
