La Plaza La Jolla recently announce the most recent addition of three retail and restaurant tenants. Soon Azzura Capri, the Mediterranean-inspired sandal brand and boutique, Kenneth Barlis boutique, the namesake retail location of the 2012 Fashion Week San Diego winner, and Le Petit Bistrot, an authentic French bistro helmed by an acclaimed chef of the Cote d’Azur, will join the center’s curated selection of tenants.
“These new tenant additions complement our vision for La Plaza La Jolla, and our beautiful coastal location,” said Jon Williams, CEO of Davlyn Investments. “As we near full capacity, the center will truly be a place for San Diegans and visitors alike to dine, shop and play.”
The open-air property, developed by Davlyn Investments and located at 7863 Girard Ave., is currently home to Catania and La Scarpa – Elixir Espresso Bar and Beaming will open in August.
The shopping center, opened in April 2015, creates an unmatched interior and exterior design experience for guests enhanced by the carefully curated mix of culinary and retail offerings. The following select businesses will join La Plaza La Jolla in the coming months:
– Azzurra Capri, whose flagship boutique is in San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood, will open a 609 square-foot pop-up shop at La Plaza La Jolla to introduce the La Jolla community to its line of namesake signature Italian handmade leather sandals trademarked with certified Swarovski crystals.
Inspired by owner and designer Diana Carolina’s travels in the Mediterranean, Azzurra Capri will offer its sandals (also sold in Dubai, Qatar, Mexico and the Caribbean) alongside contemporary labels like Calypso St. Barth, Nimo with Love and other European designers. The boutique’s design will mirror the blue and white color scheme of the logo’s label (as does the Little Italy location) and will offer complimentary styling consultation, comprehensive wardrobe assessments and exclusive collection viewings.
– Kenneth Barlis, San Diego’s luxury formal and bridal wear designer, will open his first flagship boutique at La Plaza La Jolla. Philippines-born Barlis has shown his collections internationally and has been featured in fashion publications all over the world, including Vogue Italia. He is known for his luxurious designs featuring signature intricate layering, detail and use of natural materials.The 1,277-square-foot retail location will showcase Kenneth Barlis Collection as well as one of a kind Kenneth Barlis ready-to-wear fashions. Barlis will also offer custom-designed evening and bridal wear.
– Le Petit Bistrot, a traditional French bistro with roots in the culinary mecca of Paris, France, will open its first California restaurant location at La Plaza La Jolla.
The bistro will serve traditional Parisian home-style dishes created by St. Tropez ‘celeb toque’ GŽrard Chauvet and his sous-chef (and son-in-law) Pierre-Olivier Dedieu, including French Onion Soup, Escargots a la Bourguignonne and Duck Confit et Pommes Salardaises, all day from breakfast to dinner. A full bar menu, including an extensive selection of fine wines curated by the Bistrot’s sommelier Julien Gaignier and local craft beers, will complement the well prepared Paris bistro classics. A family affair, both Chauvet and the Dedieus will be relocating to La Jolla from the coastal French Riviera town this fall. Le Petit Bistrot will feature an authentic Parisian design and ambiance, and guests will be able to view dishes being prepared via an open kitchen. The 1,677-square-foot bistro will seat 80, and offer terrace dining overlooking Girard Ave.
