La Jolla physician Dr. James Veltmeyer has been honored as a “Top Doctor” for 2019 by the San Diego County Medical Society.

This is the fifth time Dr. Veltmeyer has been recognized with an achievement shared by only 140 other San Diego physicians. He was also named one of the county’s top doctors in 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2017.

The award was announced in a July 10 letter from SDCMS Chief Executive Officer Paul Hegyi. In addition to his medical work, Dr. Veltmeyer is a past Congressional candidate, author of numerous news commentaries and OpEds, host of the “Physician on a Mission” podcast show, and chairman of Californians to Recall Gavin Newsom.
