The La Jolla High boys tennis team continues rolling along for new head coach Thomas Andrews.
Halfway through Western League play, La Jolla is 5-0.
In action last week, the Vikings scored wins over Coronado (18-0) and Cathedral Catholic (13-5).
“Johnathan Lo, Romar Hernandez, Sean Rodriguez and Michael Rabinovich are the four freshmen, and have shown strong match play in every outing,” Andrews said. “Michael Rabinovich has an amazing 15-0 record in our league matches.”
Andrews also noted that Kyle Van Buskirk, Daniel Lapidus and Niko Karnopp are producing for the team in a multiple ways.
“They are leading the team with confidence and classy demeanor on and off the court,” Andrews said.
Other contributors to date have included Lapidus, who has not lost a doubles match this season heading into this week, along with Jerry Lin, Max Einhorn, Blake Cummins, Chris Langbort, William Zhang and Alex Foster.
Elsewhere, The Bishop’s School has won three of its four matches this month.
The Knights have scored victories over San Dieguito Academy (15-3), Francis Parker (10-8) and Santa Fe Christian (13-5), with a loss coming to Cathedral (14-4).
In action last week, Scripps Ranch posted a 10-8 win over University City High.
