MUST HEAR As part of the La Jolla Community Center’s Distinguished Speaker Series, Supervisor Ron Roberts invites residents to hear him speak about the state of the county’s finances and its operations, from libraries to air quality. Roberts represents the county’s Fourth District and is serving this year as board chairman. After a 20-year career in architecture, Roberts served two terms on the City Council, representing District 2. Roberts is known for his commitments to fiscal discipline, at-risk youth, senior issues, clean air and long-range planning. His goals in regional transit include building an extension of the trolley from Old Town to UCSD and University Towne Center.
