The Kiwanis Club of Grantville-Allied Gardens made the holiday season a little brighter for almost 400 foster children this year by donating stuffed animals to Voices for Children, an advocacy organization for foster children in San Diego.
Kiwanians collected 389 new stuffed animals of various sizes, shapes and descriptions and delivered them to the Voices for Children headquarters in early December, just in time for the holiday parties for the children. Each year, Voices for Children hosts holiday parties for the 2,500 foster children they serve. Sadly, for many, this will be their only holiday celebration.
Voices for Children trains volunteer court appointed special advocates (CASAs) to be “information gatherers who get to know their case child, facilitate communication with the child’s case team, and make recommendations to the Court.”
They are voices in behalf of foster children.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time.
