When it comes to proposals, most people think that the bigger and more elaborate the gesture, the better. But sometimes, the simplest proposals are the most romantic and memorable. If you’re looking for a way to propose to your girlfriend in a way that will make her swoon, why not try one of these simple but romantic ideas?

1 – Propose on a Getaway

If you and your girlfriend love going away on getaways together, then why not propose over a romantic weekend getaway? Not only will she be wowed by how beautifully you’ve planned the whole thing but, she’ll also have a memorable story to look back on whenever you go away together in the future. If you want to make her family feel important and included in the two of you getting engaged, be sure to involve them somehow. One way to involve them is to either ask her parents for permission before you pop the question or to tell them that you are going to propose.

We know what you’re probably thinking, “But isn’t this really old-fashioned.” No! This can be an incredibly romantic way to make the whole family feel like they have been a part of your special day in a really intimate way. It is not some archaic gesture of exchange, as your girlfriend is not a piece of property to be exchanged. It is simply you declaring your love to her family.

2 – Have The Proposal Storyboarded

Did you know that there’s now an entire industry devoted to creating unique, personalized videos for proposals? All you have to do is tell the story of how you two first met and fell in love, and they’ll turn it into a video for you. They’ll even let you preview a video before they make it, so that you can ensure that they got all of the details right! If your girlfriend loves watching romantic movies, then she’ll be blown away by this incredible proposal idea.

3 – Do It In Front Of Her Friends

Some people think that proposing in front of your girlfriend’s friends will make her feel self-conscious, but there are some girls out there who actually prefer this kind of proposal idea. If she feels like everyone is watching her, she’ll know that you think she’s special enough to put on a big show for. And, if she says yes in front of everyone, then she’ll be able to brag about it to all of her friends.

4 – Propose Through Song

If you write music or sing in a band, then you can use that talent to propose! Write an original song about the story of how the two of you first met and fell in love, and then sing it to her during a special occasion. You could propose on stage with your band or even at one of your concerts! Not only will this proposal idea be incredibly romantic, but it’ll also give you guys a really cool story to tell your friends and family whenever the subject of your relationship comes up.

5 – Do It At A Park

If neither of the two of you are the type to like big, elaborate proposals, then something as simple as meeting at a park could be just what you’re looking for. Pick a really nice day and meet your girlfriend there. Bring along a picnic, play some games and just enjoy your time together. When the right moment comes, propose to her in front of everyone – she won’t even notice that there’s no audience because she’ll be so happy!

6 – Propose Where You Had Your First Date

If the two of you had your first date at a really special location, then why not propose to her there as well? If you know that your girlfriend would like that, then think of a way to add a twist on your date and propose there. If you had your first date at a coffee shop, then why not propose to her over a cup of hot cocoa? Not only will it be romantic because of the location, but she’ll also love the gesture of your proposal idea.

proposal

Proposing to your girlfriend is one of the most special things you’ll ever do, and there are many different ways to go about it. If you’re looking for a romantic and memorable way to propose, why not try one of these simple but amazing ideas? No matter which proposal idea you choose, make sure that you put a lot of thought into it and that it reflects your personality as a couple. She’ll love being able to look back on your proposal story and remember how incredibly in love you were at that moment in time.
