DOWNTOWN — Andaz San Diego will celebrate taxi drivers on Taxi Appreciation Days, Wednesday, Sept. 15 and Thursday, Sept. 16. Local cab drivers will be invited to line up outside Andaz San Diego, a Hyatt Hotel, 600 F St., on the corner of F Street and Seventh Avenue, and receive complimentary beverages and food from Andaz employees. Whether it is midnight and one’s plane just arrived at San Diego International Airport or a broken car means no trip to the grocery store after an already busy week, cab drivers are available for pick up and drop off seven days per week, 24 hours per day. Cabs serve as tour guides, greeters and farewell announcers as they are often the first and last impression of tourists in San Diego. Each day from 7 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m., Andaz staff members will be on hand to thank cab drivers and nourish them before sending them on their way.
