EPIC Entertainment Group recently announced the event production company is behind the holiday décor at Hotel del Coronado in San Diego for the 2022 season. Transforming America’s beachfront legend into a classic “Home for the Holidays” experience through Jan. 2, EPIC is credited for creating the 11-minute holiday light show spectacular called “At First Light,” highlighting the world’s first lit outdoor Christmas tree, designing breathtaking holiday garlands, shimmering illuminations, and much more.

“As a leader in storytelling through creative experiences, it only makes sense for us to dream up new delights for Hotel del Coronado guests to immerse themselves in, like the debut of a holiday light show showcasing the more than 100-year-old trees,” said Charity Hill, EPIC Entertainment Group. “We are grateful for the opportunity to expand our creative expertise and magnify theme curation and guest immersion through design and décor.”

Starting with the legendary hotel lobby, EPIC will dazzle the massive 23-foot Christmas tree with nearly 10,000 amber lights and over 2,000 ornaments, many of which can be purchased in the gift shops on property including the anticipated 2022 custom Hotel del Coronado collectible ornament. EPIC’s holiday décor can be appreciated throughout the property with bows of lush garland, shimmering oversized ornament displays, and over 20 themed Christmas trees ranging in size from 8 feet tall, to the 23 feet tall lobby tree. The Del’s 11-minute holiday light show spectacular can be viewed nightly on the Founder’s Lawn.

“In 1904, Hotel del Coronado – already considered a technological marvel – made history when it unveiled the world’s first electrically-lighted, outdoor, living Christmas tree,” adds Steve Sheldon, EPIC Entertainment Group. “To help continue the tradition of lighting the historic 140-foot tree is an honor. We can’t think of a better way to kick off the season.”

Set on one of America’s most iconic beaches, the legendary Hotel del Coronado and Beach Village at The Del have welcomed discerning travelers for more than 133 years to experience the Southern California coastal lifestyle. Here, the magic and nostalgia of the property’s storied past blend seamlessly with contemporary luxury, where a new vision for The Del is coming to life.
