PACIFIC BEACH — A 26 year-old man was struck by a pick-up truck while crossing Grand Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, according to a report form the San Diego Police Department (SDPD). The victim was walking in the 4400 block of Cass Street when he crossed Grand Avenue at the intersection against the red pedestrian warning signal. He made it most of the of the way across the street when the traffic signal changed and he was hit by a black pick-up truck that entered the intersection with the green light. The pick-up truck fled the scene. The pedestrian was taken to a local trauma center with a broken pelvis. The SDPD Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
