The green flash is a phenomenon known far and wide, where people in San Diego will wait for a chance to see the brilliant luminance as it lights up the horizon. On Thursday, March 26, JRDN, 723 Felspar St., is teaming up with Green Flash Brewing to offer guests a Green Flash Beer Dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests will enjoy five specially crafted courses by executive chef David Warner, paired with five of Green Flash Brewing’s favorite beers while enjoying the beautiful beachfront view, and a chance to see the green flash for themselves.
Founded by a San Diegan born craft beer enthusiast, Green Flash Brewing describes the legendary green flash as a moment that signals the end of an extraordinary day, and the start of an epic night, which is precisely what JRDN and Green Flash Brewery have instore for guests.
The evening will include the following courses:
– First Course: Mussels Escabeche with charred green beans, farmer’s carrots, and fried clam bellies paired with GFB, a Blonde Ale.
– Second Course: Crudo with coconut butter, banana leaf ash, finger lime, and chili oil paired with Saturhaze, an Easy Hazy IPA.
– Third Course: Fried Green Tomatoes with sweetbreads, smoked corn pudding, pickled okra, sorghum, spiced corn nuts, and mustard oil paired with Tropical DNA, a Hazy IPA.
– Fourth Course: House Merguez Sausage with black-eyed peas, charred pearl onions, and romesco paired with Flanders, a Sour Red Ale aged in Barrels.
– Fifth Course: Sticky Toffee Pudding with burnt honey-buttermilk ice cream, and candied pecans paired with Carpe Noctem, a Baltic Porter.
