In reference to Peter Abare’s letter to the editor (“Open Letter to Governor Schwarzenegger,” Nov. 1 Beacon): just what does he think the governor of California can do about the fires more than he has done? I know he is the Terminator, but even Terminators can only do so much. For my money, he is a human being who has done a good job. He has done the best he could, and more than most for our state.
Being human, he makes mistakes. But he does the best he can. Mr. Abare, stay in Colorado where there are shootings, et cetera. When one lives in the greatest state in the Union and enjoys the climate of San Diego, one accepts having crazies who set fires and live with it. There are crazies all over the world, even in Colorado. Stay there, Mr. Abare, and leave us to enjoy the blessings of San Diego in the great state of California.
