Getting pumped up at Performance 360

Performance 360 is a gym where everybody knows your name. Really. There are now 130 members, and co-owner and trainer Bryan Pritz not only knows everyone’s names, but also their fitness levels and injuries. The gym is perfect for everyone from first-timers to professional athletes. Since the trainers know everyone’s fitness levels, they can design programs to fit individual needs. The classes run all day and range between 20 and 40 minutes. The classes are a mix of strength training, yoga and cardio, and are constantly changing to keep members and their bodies guessing. Pacific Beach resident Jess Eystad regularly trains at the gym and used to work twice as hard at other gyms: “P360 provides the training program you need to get the body you want, tailored to your specific goals, in the most efficient way possible,” Eystad said. “Trainers Dave and Bryan help you select the most beneficial program each class, varying the weights and repetitions to help you get your desired results. Their encouragement, along with friendships formed with other members, help push you to reach goals you may not have thought possible prior to training in this unique, challenging, and upbeat environment.” Performance 360 will host its one-year anniversary party on Saturday, May 19 from noon to 4 p.m. at the gym. The party is an open house and the public is encouraged to stop by and check out the gym. There will be kegs, music and locally catered food. A portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Heart Foundation. During the party, the gym will also host the P360 Olympics. There will be male and female winners in each of three categories: strength, endurance course and all-around iron man and iron woman. Each category is $15 to register or, for $20, one can enter all three events. For those who are not usually into working out, or not at the fitness level they would like, Performance 360 could be just the thing to snap you out of your rut. The classes are small and customized to your specific needs and the trainers work with you to ensure you are working at a level that is right for you. “People don’t want to think about their workouts, so we do it for them. The whole idea is a much better workout in a shorter amount of time,” Pritz said. Performance 360 is located in the Mission Bay Sports Center, 1010 Santa Clara Place. For more information, call (619) 800-2774.
