Geier, Bromley capture Bishop's School awards

Bishop’s School seniors Will Geier and Sarah Bromley were recently recognized for their hard work on the sports fields and in the classroom.
The Bishop’s School Roundtable Club annually recognizes two seniors, a young man and a young woman who, during their time at Bishop’s, have demonstrated what hard work, dedication, teamwork, organization and a desire to excel can accomplish on the playing field and in the classroom.
Candidates for the scholar/athlete award must have attended The Bishop’s School at least three years, maintained a minimum 3.5 GPA, earned six varsity letters and shown exceptional accomplishments in academics and athletics.
At the recent Awards Day, Michael Brunker, president of the Roundtable Club, made the presentations.
Geier is the recipient of the 2007 Roundtable Club’s Male Scholar/Athlete Award, amassing seven varsity letters in the sports of lacrosse, soccer and football.
Geier, who will attend Stanford University, earned All-Coastal League, All-CIF and All-American honors for athletic and academic achievement with a career highlight of leading Bishop’s to its highest lacrosse playoff seed in school history, with 30 goals and 15 assists, this season.
Bromley, who will attend Dartmouth College, is the recipient of the 2007 Round Table Club’s Female Scholar/Athlete Award. Bromley had 11 varsity letters in the sports of cross country, soccer, and track & field “” and would have ended with 12 if she had not suffered a broken ankle earlier this year.
She was named Coastal Conference “Player of the Year” and to the CIF and San Diego Hall of Champions first teams for leading Bishop’s to two Coastal Conference and two CIF championships.
The Roundtable Club is a parents’ volunteer organization, dedicated to the enthusiastic support and encouragement of The Bishop’s School student-athletes, and their teams and coaches. The Roundtable Club helps with many special needs of the athletic department by supporting sports-related projects throughout the school year.
