MISSION BAY — San Diego City Fest with Luis Palau will take place on Sept. 11. City Fest is a free, daylong event running from noon to 9 p.m. at Mission Bay Park south of the Hilton Mission Bay. Palau is known for his family-friendly events focusing on community service and fellowship. Musical entertainment throughout the day will include the Newsboys, Kirk Franklin, Phil Wickham, Marisol and Tercer Cieolo. Palau, author, radio broadcaster and evangelist, will speak at the event. Action sports presentations will take place at noon, 1:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. A family fun zone will run from noon until 6 p.m. City Fest will have shuttles to parking, a first aid station and food areas.
