I have wondered how would it be to have blue hair and on Saturday I found out: It’s super fun! I attended the Color Fun Run event south of San Diego. The event is all about having fun with friends and family. My friends and I didn’t run the 5K with heartrate monitors on our wrists, but we had fun instead. We threw colored powder at each other and that’s how my hair got a new spring look. We ran, jumped around, laughed, took pictures and enjoyed other people’s company. People were cheering for us along the 5K track and that kept us going.
There were lot of families running and walking and children were truly enjoying the color toss along the way. Everyone was covered in colored powder and they couldn’t have been any happier. I think that truly is the best part of athletic activity: having fun. Sports are good for your body and health and if you aren’t happy while doing them, you should think what is wrong. Sometimes we push ourselves too hard and it shows in exercise. We don’t have the energy to do it, our muscles don’t work efficiently and our brain is stuck with one thought (I HAVE to do this). When you don’t force yourself, exercising is fun and you are happy to do it again. It should be a positive circle: When you have fun while exercising, you do it more often and when you do it often, you have more energy and that energy pushes you to exercise.
Next time I aim to run 10K, because after 5K, I was full of power to do another 5K. Hoping to see you along the track!
