Everyday California secures surf permit to offer lessons at La Jolla Shores

Everyday California, a La Jolla-based ocean adventure and apparel company, announced on May 15 that it has secured a surf permit, which will allow the company to offer surf lessons in La Jolla Shores for the first time. This is a major milestone for the 9-year-old business, giving it the ability to expand its offering, add more than 20 local jobs within the first year of surf operations and significantly increase its annual adventure bookings.

Rooted in adventure, Everyday California has been offering its popular kayak tours and equipment rentals in La Jolla Shores since 2010. The 50-person company also specializes in premium, California-inspired apparel, and accessories, sold at its flagship store, online and in select retail locations.

By obtaining the surf permit, Everyday California will be breaking into a new market and offering private surf lessons and surf camps close to its existing kayak operation. In addition, the company is looking to partner with various organizations, such as the Urban Surf 4 Kids Academy, to get orphan youth and foster kids out on the water. Using water sports as a catalyst, the organization teaches kids how to first have fun and then give back to their communities and neighborhoods through local service projects.
