The 43-year-old family-owned business Everett Stunz, a bed and linen store that carries high-end designer mattresses and linen, will move in December from its current address at 7624 Girard Ave. to a larger building, allowing the owners to expand its showroom.
“The plan is to make a better shopping experience for the customers,” said Phil Coller, who co-owns the store with his wife Nicki. “The store is nice now, but it’s a little crowded. We want to make a little more space and give people room to walk around, get comfortable and take their time shopping.”
The new location, 7616 Girard Ave., is on the corner where the store Glorious Antiques was formerly located.
The move will nearly double the width of Everett Stunz’s showroom space, Coller said. This will be the store’s third location on Girard since it opened its doors. It has been at its current location for 20 years.
Everett Stunz carries all the top brands of beds, including the Dux mattress, which is imported from Sweden and cannot be found anywhere else in San Diego, according to Coller. Dux brand mattresses range between $4,000 and $10,000. Everett Stunz has also manufactured its own brand of adjustable beds since 1963.
