In April, The Peninsula Beacon first reported on a TV pilot called “Mythological X” that was being filmed on the streets of Ocean Beach ( ˜Mythological X’ brings Hollywood flavor to OB,”April 24).
Since then, the show has gotten the green light by CBS and has already gone into full production under the retooled name of “The Ex List.”
The show is set to premiere on Friday, Oct. 3 from 9 to 10 p.m., and CBS has already created a Web site that includes a preview and behind-the-scenes videos, as well as a cast list and bios: http://www.cbs.com/primetime/the_ex_list/.
The story is about a successful thirtysomething businesswoman, Bella Bloom, played by Elizabeth Reaser.
Bloom finds out from a psychic that she has already met and dated her future husband. The catch is that she must discover which one of her exes he is and marry him within a year or find herself alone forever.
Actress Alexandra Breckenridge plays the character Vivien, Bloom’s longtime girlfriend, who helps her on her quest to figure out which one of the ex’s is the chosen one.
Breckenridge who grew up in Darien, Conn., moved to California at the age of 12 and was last seen starring opposite Courteney Cox on the FX hit series “Dirt” as Willa McPherson, a provocative yet ambitious tabloid reporter.
Breckenridge’s past credits include a starring role in “She’s the Man” opposite Amanda Bynes, the comedy short “D.E.B.S.” and the video “Rings,” which served as a bridge between the two horror films “The Ring” and “The Ring 2.”
On television, Breckenridge has guest starred on numerous series, including “Psych,” “C.S.I.,” “Medium,” “JAG,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Charmed,” “Freaks and Geeks” and “Dawson’s Creek,” but is perhaps best known for lending her voice in numerous episodes of Fox’s “Family Guy.”
Breckenridge often appears on the show to mimic Hollywood’s hottest actresses like Sarah Jessica Parker, Cybill Shepherd and Renee Zellweger.
Breckenridge will be speaking to The Peninsula Beacon this week about “The Ex List” and her successful acting career.
As a result, Beacon readers are being given an opportunity to be a part of the interview and are invited to send their questions for Breckenridge to [email protected] by midnight Monday, Aug. 18.
Please use the subject line “Questions for Alex Breckenridge” and include your full name, phone number and location in San Diego.
The interview and the answers to some of our readers’ questions will be published in the Aug. 28 edition of the Beacon.
