A rock-climbing wall, a dunk tank, family Zumba, martial arts, healthy snacks, edible art projects, balloons, face painting and raffle prizes. These are only some of the happenings at this Saturday’s free Healthy Kids Day, held annually by the La Jolla YMCA. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Y, located at 8355 Cliffridge Ave. Jamba Juice will hand out smoothies to the first 100 participants, and there will also be a local dentist on site giving out hygiene products and information. The local fire department will make a visit with its fire truck, showing kids how things work and letting them climb inside. An ambulance will also make an appearance and a paramedic will teach kids about safety. All kids will receive a goodie bag with coupons to various retailers and discounts on YMCA programs and memberships. Raffle prizes include a prize pack from LEGOLAND California (including hopper tickets and LEGO goodies), a San Diego prize pack and a La Jolla YMCA prize pack (including a three-month family membership). For more information, visit lajolla.ymca.org or call (858) 453-3483. — Claire Harlin
