The annual Flag Day Parade, <\/span><\/span>set for Saturday, June 3,<\/span> begins at 10 a.m., at the intersection of Memorial Dr, University Ave. and La Mesa Blvd. and heads west through the La Mesa Village to Acacia Avenue. The Grossmont High School Royal Blue Regiment and the Navy Junior ROTC Color Guard will lead the parade.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Grand Marshal is Carol Lockwood who was chosen to be honored based on her more than 50 years of service as an educator with the Grossmont Unified School District and involvement in numerous city projects, committees and programs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The La Mesa Community Relations and Veterans Commission will be providing free ice cream bars at \u201cThe Lookout\u201d at Legacy Park on the corner of La Mesa Blvd., 4th St., and Allison Ave. while supplies last.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Limited parking will be available in the Civic Center parking lot located at Date St. across from the La Mesa police station. The City encourages attendees to walk or take public transportation to the event.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to donations from community members, the La Mesa Flag Day Parade is sponsored by EDCO, Sedona Ford and the La Mesa Village Association. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
