A family-friendly event will bring together residents, businesses, and local services in Spring Valley on Saturday, April 29, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be held in front of Bancroft Elementary School where Bancroft Drive and Tyler Street intersect.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Spring Valley Day is a free, street-fair style event that will feature merchants, arts and crafts, food, live entertainment, cars and a community car show, free pony rides, free kids\u2019 zone, first responder displays, and multiple San Diego County services.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The purpose of Spring Valley day is to raise public awareness, increase community involvement, and celebrate the beauty and diversity of Spring Valley and La Presa. The event co-presenters are the Spring Valley Community Alliance (SVCA), Spring Valley Chamber of Commerce, New Seasons Church, and La Mesa-Spring Valley Schools.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Among those scheduled to appear are Dr. Akilah Weber, assemblymember, 79el<\/sup> District; The office of Nora Vargas, chairwoman, San Diego Supervisors, District 1; Braulio Sanabria, president, SVCA; and Christopher Pierce, vice president, SVCA.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

SVCA is a growing, all-volunteer group of local residents and business owners working together with a shared interest in improving the quality of life, curtailing drug and alcohol related harms in the community, and increasing access to resources in the neighborhoods throughout Spring Valley and La Presa. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
