This year\u2019s report reviewed construction projects that were completed in 2022 and those scheduled to be completed in 2023.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">A highlight of the report was that GUHSD received a perfect score of <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/guhsd.us16.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=65e5f66b6104a9347ef654b83&amp;id=245e1a2452&amp;e=0785667fb9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A+<\/a> <\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">on the School Bond Transparency Report Card from the San Diego Taxpayers Educational Foundation. A perfect score was awarded to only two school districts in San Diego County. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The report concludes \u201cthat the projects for 2022 were consistent with the plan established and approved by the GUHSD Governing Board. Further, the financial reports presented to the CBOC from the District for the projects completed and underway were consistent with reported expenditures.\u201d The full report can be found <\/span><\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/guhsd.us16.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=65e5f66b6104a9347ef654b83&amp;id=664396e78d&amp;e=0785667fb9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><strong>aqu\u00ed<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">&#8220;The investment made by East County citizens demonstrates their unyielding commitment to delivering a world-class, well-rounded education for our students,\u201d said <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">GUHSD Superintendent Mary Beth Kastan<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. \u201cWe take our responsibility to be good stewards of that investment very seriously, and that\u2019s why we\u2019re extremely proud to have earned a perfect score for transparency from the San Diego Taxpayers Education Foundation,\u201d she added.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">In the report, <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">2022 CBOC Chair Randall Sanner <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">explain<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">ed<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> that the &#8220;CBOC provides an independent examination of District bond project planning and spending to afford the taxpayers and community at large validation that funds are being spent as intended and designed.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The committee consists of <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">11<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> volunteer members appointed by the GUHSD Governing Board.
